WordPress trackback and pingback are a great feature that notifies us when someone links to our post. But now this feature is mainly using spammers to send spam links.
By following the steps below, you can easily stop trackback and pingback on your WordPress posts.

You can disable Trackback and Pingback from your WordPress site by going to the default Setting section.
Click on Settings >> Discussion option. Then uncheck “Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks) on new articles” box.
You have successfully disabled Trackback and Pingback from your WordPress site. But it will only be disabled on new articles you publish.
To disable trackback and pingback from old WordPress Posts, click on Posts >> All Posts page and select All posts. As you can see in the screenshot below.
Next, select the “Edit” button from drop down menu and hit on the “Apply” button.
Here you will find some new options that will have Ping options as well. Just change it to “Do not allow“.
Now, click on Update button. WordPress will stop sending pings from your selected posts.
