How To Enable HTTPS On Your Blogger Blog

You can easily turn on HTTPS on your blogger blog and it is completely free. Just, you need to go to Blogspot Dashboard.

Follow these steps to redirect to HTTPS:

  • First, visit blogger.com and login to your BlogSpot dashboard.
  • Now click on Settings >> Basic, Here you will see the HTTPS Redirect.
  • From the HTTPS dropdown, select Yes & save the option.

  • Done, now your blog has been redirected to HTTPS.

When a visitor visits your blog, it will open on https.

Submit HTTPS Version to Google Search Console

Google treats HTTP and HTTPS as two separate sites. That’s why adding the HTTPS version of your blog is very important.

Login to your Google Webmaster tool accounts and submit or verify your blog with HTTPS versions as new properties.

Here’s a quick guide on how to Verify blogger blog in Google Search Console:

First, login to your Google Search Console Tools. Click on ‘Add Property‘. You can see screenshot below.

Next, enter your blog URL.

After clicking on the Continue button, you will need to verify your blog that you are the owner. Scroll down, click on HTML tag and Copy the meta tag below.

Now go to your Blogger Dashboard and select your blog. Then click on Theme >> Edit HTML.

Paste the copied meta tag under <head> section and click on Save theme.

After saving it, return to Google Search Console and click on the ‘Verify‘ button. If you have used the correct HTML tag, you will see a Success message.

Add a New Sitemap

Generate sitemap again for your HTTPS blog.

And On the Google Search Console dashboard, in the left column, click on the ‘Sitemaps’ option, then paste the last part of the URL (atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500) and click on the Submit button.
