- Get search volume and forecasts – See search volume and other historical metrics for your keywords, as well as forecasts for how they might perform in the future.
Both options take you to the Keyword Plan but differ slightly.
Let’s explore how to use these two tools.
1. Discover New Keywords
As the name suggests, it helps to find new keywords. If you want to find new keywords, then this tool is ideal.
According to tool instructions, just “Enter words, phrases, or a URL related to your content or business.
Keyword planner will give you hundreds of keywords suggestions for any search term or URL that you input.

For each keyword suggestion, you’ll see:
- Avg. monthly searches
- Top of page bid (low range)

- Search networks – I would recommend keeping it “Google” only.

Keyword Text – The filter will only show you such keywords which will contain your Keyword.
Competition – You can get only keywords with “Low”, “Medium” or “High” competition.
Avg. Monthly Searches – You can use this feature to filter keywords with higher search volume.
Just click on “Avg. Monthly Searches” to sort the results.
This will show you the keyword with a higher search volume (popular keywords).
Clicking “Avg. Monthly Searches” again, you can see the low-volume keywords.

Until now, I have told you how to use the tools, features and options of Google Keyword Planner. Now let’s come to the final step on how to find awesome keywords.
It’s a little hard! A lot of factors are used to find a good keyword. But don’t worry, I will help you find the best keyword by Google Keyword Planner.
Go to Discover New Keywords tool and type your focus keyword or targeted keyword.
For example, if you want to write a blog post about a mobile phone of 6 GB RAM, do not just use the keyword “mobile phone”. Because it will not give the perfect result.
But keywords like “mobile phone 6 GB RAM” will work great. So enter that keyword in the field and click “Get Started”.
This will take you to the keywords results page and will show a keyword suggestion for your search term.

These type of keywords have a large search volume. If you optimize your posts with higher search volume keywords, those keywords will give you more traffic.

Apart from this, you can find the volume, competition, and CPC using Keyword Everywhere. This is the fastest way to get exact keyword planner search volume. You do not need to check every keyword repeatedly.
First of all, install the Keyword Everywhere in your browser. Once you have installed, click on Keywords Everywhere icon and then click on Settings.
Now, Enter your API Key in the text box at the top of the page. If you do not have an API key, get one from here.
